heavy love album artwork

Heavy Love is a sonic adventure through Love, death, isolation, connection, power, agency, collapse and rapture.

Bristol’s Maestro Tom Quarrelle has enlisted some of the city’s finest musicians and producers to create an album that weaves Deep lyricism through a tapestry of epic soundscapes, soaring choirs, heavy bass and thunderous back beat. Tom gets both intimate and epic, zooming out from the everyday to the existential in his most personal work. Heavy love is a journal of sorts charting a decade of collapse and awakening both personal and global.  A stream of consciousness through breakdown, malaise, loss and how he found the way back. 13 Songs born of love, fortitude and a commitment fully face whatever the future holds. Tom gives words to the disquiet that we’re all feeling as we lurch from crisis to crisis, addicted to the news cycle at our finger tips. Bombarded relentlessly with competing narratives designed to engage our primitive fears and most base mythological sense of ourselves.  The rise of tyranny, environmental breakdown, Big tech monsters, perpetual war and spiraling inequality and all the while we fall in love, watch telly, toast bread, dream up space rockets, build hospitals, eat pizza, raise cats and children, work jobs, make love, create stories and music to try to make sense of it all.
